When you retire, you will receive a lifetime retirement pension. Under the defined-contribution plan, this retirement pension is adjusted annually in line with developments in the capital markets. In the event of death, the pension fund pays survivor benefits to eligible beneficiaries. The prerequisite for payment of the supplemental pension is:
- the termination of your employment and
- reaching the contractually agreed retirement age.
If both conditions apply to you, you can apply for the pension with us. You will generally receive your supplemental pension 14 times a year upon retirement.
The amount of the pension is determined by the valuation of your accumulated balance at the time of retirement. These accumulated assets consist of your employer’s contributions and your own contributions, taking into account the investment returns achieved and the actuarial results.
Adjustments to pension benefits are primarily determined by the pension fund’s investment returns and, consequently, by changes in the capital markets.
For this reason, an adjustment to pension fund benefits may result in either an increase or a reduction in benefits. We will inform you of any change in the amount of your pension.
